Now I’m not saying you have to break some rules. But he needs to realize your worth. The most effective way to make that happen is if he misses you when you are not around. But that is a tough job in itself. While in the initial phases of a relationship, men go overboard about missing their girlfriend. This enthusiasm fizzles out when they are certain that you are theirs. But where’s the fun in that for you? So, follow my advice to make him miss you desperately, and enjoy his continued loyalty.
Let’s start with some simple moves. As we nail these down, we’ll move further down the list with more.
Limit Your Communication
If you are only a text away then there is no way he’ll miss you. stop being so available for him to communicate with. Start doing this by not initiating conversations with him. Let him be the one who texts first or calls. Second, when he does text don’t be prompt about responding. Take your time. An hour or two, before you respond. If he calls, it’s ok to miss one when you know it won’t be anything urgent. If it is, he will call more than once. Let him put more effort into staying in touch. Finally, be the first one to cut the call.
Restrict Your Social Media Updates
If he can see what you have been up to, he doesn’t need to stay in touch. So, it is important that you don’t live-tweet your whole life. Texting through social media is also one way to communicate. Beware of not falling for that trap. Don’t immediately respond when he comments on your posts. More importantly, post very rarely. Once or twice a month is fine. To be honest, it will be fair on your friends who don’t like their feed clogged too. Just a healthy suggestion.
Make Your Interactions Count
When he does call or meet, make it memorable. Don’t bring any sort of negativity. Your last interaction with him is what he is going to associate you with till the next. So, make sure that it is something worth remembering. Have fun. Hangout for movies or go to amusement parks. Whatever proves to be a good experience for the two of you is worth the time. Be funny and positive. If he is upset, try to cheer him up. But don’t bring your own drama to the meeting. He would most certainly not miss listening to you whine.
Have Something to Talk About
He needs to know that he is not the most important person in your life. So, make sure you have stories from the gap between your meetings. Hangout with your friends and share those memories with him. You don’t necessarily have to make him jealous. In fact, don’t do it unless he’s doing it to you. But some memorable time with your family. Or a girls’ night at a friend’s place. Anything that was fun and exciting to talk about should be shared. This will make him want to be a part of those stories. Make him want to spend more time with you. It’s a little harsh. But love is hard.

A signature is not just your name on a form. It’s your identity. While I am totally not talking about an autograph. What I mean here is that you need to engage his senses. For example, if you have a wonderful perfume, use it whenever you meet him. Things like these get registered in the subconscious. It will remind him of you and make him miss you even more. There are other things that can become your signature, like your laughter. Take the thing you are most complimented for and make that your mark.
Be a Challenge
Men love a challenge. Most of them are wired to believe that a woman needs them. The more flirtatious ones believe they can get any woman they want. So, if you become too easy to get, he will lose interest. Thus, he won’t miss having to complete the challenge and emerge victoriously. The best way to do this is to not be available all the time. Let him know that your time is precious. And you are not about to appear at his every whim. Secondly, don’t try to impress him by liking what he likes. Have your own likes and dislikes so that he has to adjust his plans to yours just as much as you do. Playing hard to get does help in many ways.

Avoid his texts and calls all you can. But when you do meet, it should be in person. This allows you to engage his senses even more. There is nothing that leaves a lasting memory better than a physical interaction. This allows him to feel your presence around him. This too gets registered in the subconscious. The little things about you will register in his mind. The lasting memory is what gives rise to longing and that is what you were aiming for all along.
Maybe Pull a Cinderella
Remember how Cinderella left her glass sandal at the ball? The Prince searched the entire kingdom to find her after that. While he wouldn’t have to do that, it will most certainly serve as a reminder of your presence. Also, when he wants to return it you get another chance at another lasting memory. So, maybe leave a small trinket you keep about you. Or your lipstick to make him think about your lips. Anything that reminds him of you, works. But make sure it has some sentimental value to it.
Cool and Independent
Everyone can get the ideal girl. Who doesn’t talk much? Does what her boyfriend likes. And is downright nice. But what boring is that, right? You need to assert who you are: a strong and independent woman of the 21st century. It is good to boost a man’s ego every now and then. But don’t make it a regular thing. Let it be clear that you don’t need his help opening a jar. And if he thinks all women are just drama. He has another thing coming at him. Because you don’t have enough time for drama. Yours or his.
It’s easy to make a man who desperately misses you to commit. Try to understand him first and only then plan your next move. Knowing more about his past breakups helps too. Not only will you know what not to do, but you’ll also get a measure of this man. Just don’t overdo it.
