There are diverse social etiquettes that we know of and make sure of sticking to. On the other hand did we know of the various beauty etiquettes that must go hand in hand with our social manners? There are a few things you should keep in mind with regards to beauty if you not only want to look beautiful but walk, talk and act with beauty, polish and sophistication.
DON’T WEAR MAKE UP AT THE TABLE
It is extremely impolite and uncouth of you to wear lipstick or rouge on the table amidst other individuals or an individual, while you are eating. Please excuse yourself to the washroom and do the needful touch-ups. Wearing make-up is similar to getting into a fresh pair of clothes. You definitely wouldn’t do it around people. Would you?
DON’T COMB HAIR IN THE OPEN
One of the beauty etiquettes that you must keep in mind is that it’s a big no-no to put on make-up or clothes while people are watching, it is crude to brush your hair in the public, not only because it seems as though you haven’t got your things together but also because it may create hygiene issues, especially at an eatery.
DON’T SPRUCE YOUR NAILS IN PUBLIC
Don’t trim, chop, file or paint nails in public. This too can create a bad impression for you, as nails are dead cells which carry dirt; the sound of it makes us cringe doesn’t it? So you see when you chop your nails, they fall here and there and nobody would really like dirt from somebody else’s body to reach out for them. It is a matter of personal hygiene that you should take care of in privacy. Don’t repel people with a show of bad personal hygiene. This is one of the most important beauty etiquettes that we tend to neglect.
DON’T WEAR STRONG PERFUME
This yet another one of the beauty etiquettes that you should take note of. Whether it is expensive or cheap wear it to the minimum. Less is always more in this case. Don’t drench yourself in perfume that it becomes hard for people to be around you. Perfume blends with the natural scents of your body and emits a pleasing smell but when you apply too much the consistency is lost and the smell becomes too synthetic and overt to bear.
DON’T WEAR HAIR BANDS AROUND YOUR WRIST
A very significant yet utterly overlooked is this among the other beauty etiquettes. It is extremely childish to wear your hair band around your wrist, especially if it has a tuft of hair stuck to it. It just looks untidy and unrefined.
DON’T SHARE HAIR BRUSHES
It is an unhealthy practice to share your hair brush with anybody. You shouldn’t ask anybody for their hair brush either. As scalp infections, lice and dandruff can easily pass through hair brushes.
DON’T ENGAGE IN PHONE CALLS AT THE SALON
It is extremely bothersome when you visit the salon to beautify yourself and have your nerves calmed, someone near to you chats up on phone about occurrences in their life. These kind of long-term conversations are to be saved for the time when you get back home in privacy. You’ve had a long week; don’t dole out time that you’ve set aside to get yourself pampered. It is highly against your beauty etiquettes.
POINT OUT YOUR FRIEND’S FAUX PAS
Be a responsible beauty etiquettes promoter. If you find any of your friends with lipstick stains on the teeth, smudged mascara or liner, fly away hair then let them know in a polite and subtle way or fix it for them. You know how embarrassing it is to laugh with lipstick stains on your teeth.
Keep these tips in mind when you want to look, and feel beautiful at the same time. Beauty etiquettes are as obligatory as social etiquettes to form a part of the beauteous mass of gorgeous women.
