The gorgeous former Miss Universe (2000), Lara Dutta, celebrates her birthday today, i.e. the 16th of April. She is a talented model, actress and producer, having worked in many films, to name a few, Andaaz, No Entry, Housefull and Masti.
She is presently married to the Indian tennis star, Mahesh Bhupati. In January 2012, the couple was blessed with their first child.
- A fascinating fact about her being she has scored the highest in the swim suit round in the Miss Universe pageant till date. Ironically, she doesn’t know swimming. She had almost drowned while shooting for a scene in Andaaz, being rescued by her close friend, Akshay Kumar.
- She is a food lover. Chocolate being one of her weaknesses. However, she maintains quite a balanced lifestyle. This is quite evident in her age defying appearance.
- Very soon, she will be seen in the role of a public prosecutor, for her upcoming movie, Azhar, the biopic of the former international Indian cricketer, Mohammad Azharuddin; opposite actor Emraan Hashmi.
With regard to the fashion industry, she has held very strong opinions in terms of what needs to be the role of women.
She said, ”Women are now in a far stronger space from an expression point of view. Who they are is being showcased through their fashion. Also, the growing economic independence has helped women explore what works for them and find their own fashion voice”.
