And here are some more facts and traits, why the Indian culture is so unique and rich

  • Indian festivals and rituals are quite elaborate. Not a single month is devoid of one. According to the National Geographic, Diwali is the largest and the most important holiday in the country. Each of the 29 states have festivals of their own. Durga Puja in West Bengal (worshipping the Hindu Goddess portraying the victory of good over evil), Bihu in Assam, Lohri in Punjab and Pongal in Tamil Nadu (celebrating the harvest season) are a few examples.
  • The ‘Namaste’ or ‘Namaskaar’ (Folding hands in front of your chest) is a common Indian custom which finds its origins in the Vedas. It literally means ‘I bow before you’.
  • Temples in India are located along the lines of the magnetic waves in order to increase the positive energy that can be reaped from them. Idols have copper plates placed under them that reflects energy.
  • The Swastika is a famous sign or symbol of the Hindu tradition which is similar to that of the Adolf Hitler’s Nazi Party. In the Indian context, it has different meanings. It is symbolic of Lord Ganesha, the mythological character, known to help you fight off adversities and adversaries.
