A multifaceted young lady from Haryana, Manushi Chhillar gets crowned Miss World at a grand event in China on Saturday, the 18th of November 2017 – this after a good 17 years of India having backed none.
Breaking all sorts of common stereotypes, the 20 year old medical student pursuing an MBBS, beats the top five potential contestants from Kenya, England, France and Mexico in the competition and brings home the crown.
As per what her profile in the Miss World website reads:
She aspires to be a cardiac surgeon and open a profit free Clinique for the treatment of rural dwellers, beside having a fascination for outdoor sports activities including paragliding, bungee jumping, snorkelling and Scuba diving. Oh and of course, she also enjoys painting among all the other endowments she executes.
You shall consent upon Miss World aptly justifying her title when you come to know that in one of the 5 rounds she was asked as to which profession she thinks should earn the highest salary and her answer was:
“I think a mother deserves the highest respect and when you talk about salary it’s not always about cash but I feel it’s the love and respect that you give to someone. My mother has always been the biggest inspiration in my life. All mothers sacrifice so much for their kids. So, I think it is the job of a mother that deserves the highest salary.”
Her passions, ideals and visions combined with her confidence makes for a compassionate woman in possession of a strong disposition, who earns the crown very deservedly, doing our nation proud.
The ‘beautiful’ Manushi Chhillar hence becomes the sixth Indian woman to be crowned Miss World by Stephanie Del Valle, the last year’s Miss World winner from Puerto Rico at the event in Sanya City Arena in China, after Lara Datta’s win in the year 2000!
